Halfway.....
Hola! I can´t talk long and don´t want to bore ya´ll with minor details of my life here, but I just wanted to say hello and I miss ya´ll. I feel like I have been gone for months on end when really it has only been 3-4 weeks. I still love it here, starting to fall into some sort of routine. I just got back from Portugal...AMAZING. I tried to put pics online again but, unfortunately I take after my Aunt Mic and I have far to many....(I have nearly 500 already.) I can´t wait to see ya´ll and eat American food again! One Week Later
Helloooo family! I do not have a lot of time and I have been trying to upload pictures for the last hour from my computer buuuut the wireless doesn´t work on my computer here. So no pics yet. I am slowly adjusting to the culture here. Everything is very different, and there are days when it is hard, but it is so incredibly beautiful here. This experience has already opened my eyes to so much more. I feel like this experience is making me grow up so much more than even moving to Calvin did. So while it is hard, I know it will be very lifechanging.
The weather here is HOT. We are easily hitting 100 degrees everyday and it is so hard to sleep here b-c we cannot use our air conditioning at night so you just lay in bed and sweat. I have learned to use the siesta time (the whole city shuts down literally from 1pm til 5pm and everyone just sleeps. It is just a much slower pace of things here. I need to adjust to that yet, I don´t always know what to do with my time so that does get hard. There is so much to see of the city. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!
Spanish here is so hard to understand. They speak faster than I ever have and they have a lisp. It is very frusterating to always be wondering what people are saying, but I still need to give it time, it has only been one week.
I miss ya´ll very much. I feel like I have been gone forever! I do have to tell you that today when my senora look at my pictures, she told me that I had a very beautiful family and she still can´t give over the fact that both Matt and Whit are YOUNGER and not older than me :). I am falling in love with the city. Just pray for patience, especially with the language. Hopefully I will have pictures for ya´ll soon! Much love!!!
